I never asked God to give me what I want...

because, I don't know whether what I want will be good for me or not in future. Whenever I pray God, I always ask him, "Give me what you feel I deserve the most". Sometimes, I don't even ask anything from him because I think God is mature enough to find what I want before I ask him. I feel sad hearing people asking God to give them immediately what they want. If not given, they scold him, and the least stop praying him. I always have the feeling that God has grandeur picture in his mind, to execute the tasks that are good for all, not to specific individual. If God gets biased to individual requests, he may not execute his grand plan efficiently (Assuming that God has given us freewill to ask whatever we want from him). In short, whether you ask God or not, he will give you what you deserved.

My message is to everybody, irrespective of his religion. So, I used God. ;)

"God" is the Absolute. Devotees are the "Relative". Unless the devotees sync with the Absolute, nothing happens out of their Relative wishes and prayers. Praying God not for specific relative desires is the first step towards the Absolute!
